About

At the call of great illiterateness in the rural area, to show the light of education, Siri Guru Har Rai Sahib Society was founded by the local residents. The society decided to start a college and School in this rural and Kandi area This society is working under the blessed guidance of Jathedar Sant Baba Nihal Singh Ji, who is the Jathedar of Misal Shahidan Tarana Dal, Harian Bela of seventh Guru. The great legend Shri Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji visited this land during his practicing of Sikhism 1645 to 1661. That’s why, the society established this college and school with great enthusiasm and named it ‘Siri Guru Har Rai Sahib College for Women’.

Spreading the lights of education since 2001 ,Siri Guru Har Rai Sahib College is situated in Chabbewal on Hoshiarpur-Chandigarh road. It is situated at a distance of 13 km from Hoshiarpur. The foundation stone of the college was laid by S. Parkash Singh Badal Chief Minister, Punjab and Bibi Jagir Kaur Former Minister and former head of S.G.P.C. The foremost aim of  college and school is to promote and spread education in the rural heartland of Punjab.

Mission

Siri Guru Har Rai Sahib College for Women and school serves keenly with its mission to uplift the academic standard of the girls coming from rural background. The all rounded development of the girls through professional, vocational and academic excellence leading to women empowerment, though, is the adjacent mission of the institution, yet the socio-ethical and holistic growth of the women remains the prime concern of our mission.
